Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: August 2026
The Route Holidays follows a strict non-refundable policy for Guest-initiated cancellation of confirmed bookings, because hotels, vehicles and other services may be blocked specifically for the Guest.
Cancellation by Guest
Once a booking has been confirmed, cancellation by the Guest shall ordinarily result in no refund.
This includes cancellation due to:
- change of plans;
- personal reasons;
- illness;
- medical reasons;
- family emergency;
- financial circumstances;
- change of travel dates;
- train cancellation or delay;
- flight cancellation or delay;
- inability to travel;
- no-show;
- late arrival;
- early departure;
- change of mind;
- failure to reach the destination.
No-Show
Failure to report for a confirmed booking without prior communication shall be treated as a no-show and shall ordinarily be non-refundable.
Late Arrival
Late arrival does not automatically extend hotel check-out, vehicle usage or sightseeing timings and does not ordinarily create a right to refund for services missed because of late arrival.
Early Departure
If the Guest leaves the tour early or does not use remaining hotel nights, meals, transportation or sightseeing, the unused portion shall ordinarily not be refundable.
Date Change
A request to change travel dates shall be treated as a request for modification and shall be subject to availability, supplier terms and additional charges.
A date change is not guaranteed.
Transfer of Booking
A confirmed booking cannot automatically be transferred to another person or future booking.
Any transfer requires prior written approval from The Route Holidays and may be subject to supplier restrictions and additional charges.
Company Cancellation
Where The Route Holidays cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within its reasonable control and cannot provide a reasonably comparable alternative, the refund/remedy shall be handled in accordance with the Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
Force Majeure
Where cancellation or disruption results from circumstances beyond reasonable control, the available remedy shall depend on the circumstances, affected supplier terms and applicable law.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Cancellation Policy excludes or restricts a statutory right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
